Konbu and Rice

A few weeks ago when people were wondering where the snow was I shot this photo of Mt. Konbu with the rice paddies lying dormant in the foreground. Three weeks later the snow hasn’t really stopped falling and winter is far from over. We will be taking a small rest here at discoverniseko.net over the winter as our energy will be focusing on nisekosnow.net and rearranging this site. Summer in the Niseko Mountains

Finally the Hokkaido summer is here, lush green mountains and hot weather and the people are out and about enjoying what Niseko has to offer. For me it saw a weekend of exploring the mountains that extend from Niseko Annupuri out to the coast at Iwanai.

The mountains have lots to offer in summer from hiking on mountain trails, mountain biking, road cycling and for the daring amongst us even paragliding in the thermals of Niseko Annupuri.
